From: Jim Clark, N5RO

The Bradshaw Mountain Middle School now has a ham radio club. Since the school budget does not provide for this, we're in dire need of an HF Rig - ANY VINTAGE, ANY TYPE! If only 5 bands, that's OK. We can also use a wire antenna or even just wire for same. contact Jim, N5RO Email n5ro@arrl.net, Phone 775-8432.

Bob Smith, WB6ODR donated a dual-bander and a 70cm beam to the club, and Neil, KA7JAS is giving us 75 ft of coax for HF. Dick Hughes, W6CCD has donated a computer printer (to print message traffic) and an old CB that we're converting to 10 meters. I've donated a dual-band vertical & pole, a power supply for the VHF/UHF rig, coax for the vertical, & numerous other items. A non-ham gave us an old TV for ATV use.

We have a donated tower but it's very questionable whether we'll be allowed to put it up. When kids get licensed, we also try to donate a VHF or VHF/UHF radio to the licensee - usually a donated HT but we've been known to fall back on a mobile if that's what's been donated. We'd like to have an HF rig for those who make it to General but so far we haven't received one for the club station.

Listen for us (Club Call Sign KE7QOP) on 147.22 Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30 MST.

Subject: Announcement to Arizona Clubs
Seventh Area QSO Party May 3-4, 2008
From: BobK8IA@aol.com
Date: Wed, March 12, 2008 1:11 pm

This email is to notify you and your fellow club members that the Third Annual Seventh Area QSO Party (7QP) will take place from 1300Z May 3 thru 0700Z May 4 (essentially 6am thru Midnight local MST on Saturday May 3).

7th call area stations work everyone, others work 7th area stations only. Work stations once per band/mode. 7th area mobiles (and those participating in other concurrent QSO parties or contests) may be worked again as they enter new counties.

Full Rules and much other info is available at the
7QP website

This has become the most active of any new QSO Party implemented in many yrs. In fact, the first year, 2006, it had more activity than any first year of any QSO Party, ever! Pretty impressive.

Thanks to the activity of you folks, Arizona had all of its 15 counties represented in the 2007 7QP. Only two other states (OR, UT) can claim 100% county participation.

Please let your fellow club members know of this great operating activity, and make plans now! Either myself (bobk8ia@aol.com) or Jim KF7E (jhenders@swlink.net) can field any questions you may have.

73, Bob K8IA
CADXA Contest Coordinator
Arizona Captain - 7QP

Steve Pearson (KC7TIL) is the club's social director, and so is the keeper of the list of restaurants to be frequented by the Wednesday Lunch Bunch. Anyone having any questions as to the culinary destination this week should target all questions to Steve at the above e-mail address.
